The Harry Beswick, Heswall

The Harry Beswick

Heswall.

- restored former police station turned premium pub, blending Edwardian architecture with contemporary dining, with outstanding preservation of local heritage.-

Client: Hydes Brewery

Designer: DV8 Designs

Theme: We were proud to contribute to the transformation of the historic former Heswall Police Station into The Harry Beswick pub, named in honour of its original architect. The new décor of The Harry Beswick pub is a sophisticated fusion of heritage and modernity, designed to honour the building’s Edwardian roots while introducing a fresh, contemporary aesthetic. The theme balances rustic charm with refined elegance—original architectural features such as exposed brickwork, arched windows, and tiled detailing are thoughtfully preserved and contrasted with modern touches like ambient lighting, curated artwork, and bespoke 3D installations.

Rich, natural textures and deep, earthy tones are complemented by carefully chosen greenery, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The planting adds softness and vibrancy, while the artwork reflects local history and pays subtle homage to Harry Beswick’s architectural legacy. The overall effect is a timeless, layered interior that feels both grounded in history and completely current.

Our team supplied a curated selection of artwork, bespoke 3D decorative pieces, and lush interior planting that complement the building’s striking Edwardian architecture. The design seamlessly blends heritage with contemporary hospitality, creating a warm, characterful atmosphere that pays tribute to the building's past while offering a fresh, modern experience. Every element we provided was carefully chosen to enhance the unique charm of this thoughtfully restored landmark.
