-blending contemporary sophistication with warm, understated luxury-

Client: Tom Shepherd

Designer: FiFi Interiors

Theme: We were delighted to collaborate with FiFi Interiors on the design of Upstairs by Tom Shepherd, a Michelin-starred dining destination in the heart of Lichfield. The interiors are a masterclass in understated sophistication—warm, intimate, and richly layered to reflect both the building’s historic character and the precision of Tom Shepherd’s culinary vision.

The design pairs soft, moody tones with luxurious textures, including plush upholstered seating, warm timber accents, and metallic lighting details. Carefully considered spatial flow allows diners to move effortlessly from lounge-style seating to an immersive chef’s counter experience.

Our contribution focused on enhancing the natural elements of the space through bespoke planting and botanical styling. This included a striking diamond ivy planting installation, creating a living wall effect that adds rhythm and organic form to the interior. We also supplied elegant pampas grass planters, which bring softness and tonal contrast with their feathery, sculptural plumes.

To complement these features, we installed 3D cased botanicals—detailed, framed greenery that adds texture and depth to the walls—and hanging ivy, which introduces a subtle sense of movement and continuity throughout the dining areas.

Each planting element was selected to align with FiFi Interiors’ design language: tactile, contemporary, and welcoming. The result is a calm, sensorial space where natural beauty and fine dining go hand in hand.
